It's one of the biggest and most hotly anticipated tennis tournaments of the year, and the action is heating up at the US Open in New York City.
Roger Federer comfortably dispatched Donald Young in straight sets to advance to the second round on opening night (August 27, local time), and will now meet Bjorn Phau as he looks to claim his second Grand Slam victory of the season.
Meanwhile Andy Murray made light work of Russian Alex Bogomolov Jr 6-2, 6-4, 6-1 while Andy Roddick eased passed Rhyne Williams 6-3, 6-4, 6-4.
Several big names are still to play their first round matches, with Novak Djokovic and David Ferrer both set to hit the courts soon.
One big match up has already been set for the second round however, America's Mardy Fish taking on Russia's Nikolay Davydenko in what could potentially be a tight contest.
Over on the women's draw, Venus Williams had no problem beating Bethanie Mattek-Sands 6-3, 6-1 and will now look to get through Angelique Keothavong in the second round.
The real talk is about younger sister Serena however, who will open her tournament against 21-year-old Coco Vandeweghe. These two previously matched up at the Bank of the West Classic final in July where Vandeweghe put up a tough fight but went down 7-5, 6-3.
The big question will be whether she has learned from her mistakes and developed a strategy for potentially causing an upset, but it will take a giant killer performance to top the Wimbledon champion and London 2012 gold medallist, who has looked nigh-unstoppable in recent months.
The other London 2012 finalist, Maria Sharapova was also in action for the first time since that disappointing Olympic performance, looking far more comfortable as she downed Melinda Czink 6-2, 6-2.
