It seems that everyone is retiring at the moment, so why not retire to Strathfield Sports Club this weekend for some well-earned rest and respite. Here’s our weekly look at all the sport we’ll be screening, so we hope you can join us on the sidelines.

In the words of movie character Ricky Bobby; “If you’re not first, you’re last”. While this famous quote might not necessarily ring true, I don’t think anyone would have guessed first would be playing last when Souths and West Tigers line up tonight in Friday night football.

The seasons to date of these two foundation teams could not be more polarised with the high-flying Bunnies now favourites for the Premiership. Meanwhile the Tigers are a club in turmoil, with star-playmaker Benji Marshall being dropped to the bench. Given their current form tonight’s game looks like a mismatch but you can be sure these traditional rivals always bring the best out of each other.

Tonight’s other game is an all-Queensland affair with the Broncos taking on the Titans. Both sides will be desperate to consolidate their place in the top-8 after reasonable starts to season. With both sides being involved in 1-point ballgames last weekend, we’re sure this will be another tight affair.

Looking to Saturday and the three footy codes will all be going head-to-head in a huge night of fixtures. The Cowboys will be taking on the impressive Roosters in the NRL. Meanwhile the Waratahs play the Brumbies in Super 15. This is shaping as a pivotal game not only for their seasons but for Wallaby selection, with all players keen to impress ahead of the Lions tour.

We’ll also have the Swans taking on Fremantle in the AFL, where both sides will be eager to bounce back after disappointing last round loses. We will attempt to simulcast all three games from 7:30pm or alternatively let your presence known and we’ll screen whatever is the most popular!

Moving to Sunday and there will be plenty more League action, with the Sharks taking on the in-form Raiders and Knights battling a rejuvenated Bulldogs side.

Later that night we’ll cross to England for the final round of the EPL, which as is tradition, will have all matches kicking-off at the same time. With the title and relegation places already being decided all attention will be on Arsenal and Tottenham in their final fixtures to see who will claim the season’s final Champions League place for finishing fourth.

As always there’ll be plenty of other sport on throughout the weekend as we bring you the best from the NBA and NHL play-offs, the Netball Championship and all the sport happening in Korea, courtesy of our new digital internet channels.

Rest assured it’s going to be another bumper weekend of sport at SSC. So race on down like Ricky Bobby in Talladega Nights and be first to see it all on our big screen.
