You’d be forgiven for thinking we’re in the midst of summer with the fine weather we’ve been enjoying lately and while a cool change may be on the way, one thing is certain- it’s definitely football season. We’ll once again have all the codes covered at Strathfield Sports Club this weekend as we televise all the big match-ups from home and abroad. Here are our weekly tips as to what’s on.

South Sydney will again feature in Friday night football with another huge game, this time against the Broncos. The Bunnies have a poor record against the Brisbane outfit but will go into the match as favourites on the back of their best start to a season in decades. Greg Inglis will surely be looking to dish out some punishment of his own after the battering he copped last week and the Broncos have a couple of significant outs, so we think Souths will bounce their way to victory in this one.

The Bulldogs will host the Tigers in the night’s other match with both teams desperate for a win. Both sides have endured poor starts to the year thanks to horrendous injury wards but that will be no excuse when they take the field at what is sure to be a packed ANZ Stadium.

Saturday, the action will start on our very own grass courts at midday when our Strathfield 4 & 5 Badge teams go head to head in the Sydney Tennis metropolitan competition. Both teams are relatively evenly matched but there is sure to be some friendly fire as clubhouse bragging rights go on the line.

Afterwards there will be plenty more sport on our big screen with AFL, Rugby Union, Football and Rugby League all sure to get a run at some stage. The Raiders will be looking to break the Storm’s undefeated run in the NRL, followed by the Eels looking to bounce back from their embarrassing defeat last week when they take on the Cowboys.

The Western Sydney Giants will be searching for their first win of the season but will be up against it taking on the besieged but unbeaten Essendon. Meanwhile the Waratahs will be hoping they can break their losing hoodoo away from home when they continue their tour of South Africa against the Kings in the early hours of the morning.

We’ll also have some late night EPL action to keep you entertained with Tottenham looking to continue their push for a Champions League place when they take on Southampton at White Hart Lane. The Saints will be up against it trying to contain recently crowned PFA Player of the Year Gareth Bale but have been revitalised under the new management of Mauricio Pochettino.

Sunday and the focus returns to Sydney with the Roosters taking on old foes the Panthers and Swans coming up against the Lions.  There will also be plenty more action from the EPL when Liverpool host Everton, in what will be Jamie Carragher’s final Merseyside derby. We’ll also have all the action from the NBA play-offs, Netball Championship and ATP World Tour.

So as you can see we’re all set for another cracking weekend of sport. We’re seasoned pro’s when it comes to serving up a good time at SSC, so we hope to see you down here at some stage over the weekend!
