This weekend at SSC:

While daylight has steeply declined this week, it will definitely run second to the huge weekend of sport we have in store for patrons at Strathfield Sports Club! Here is our weekly spiel of what we'll be watching over the weekend to keep you entertained.

Friday night will feature the clash all rugby league fans have been waiting for, when Sonny-Bill Williams lines up for the Roosters against his former club the Bulldogs. Williams earned the ire of Bulldogs fans when he walked out on the club in 2008 to pursue a career in rugby union and tonight marks the first time he plays against the blue and white he once proudly wore.

Last year's grand-finalists have had some disappointing results so far this year, with the Bulldogs only managing to record one win through the opening five rounds of the competition. The Roosters on the other hand have shown great improvement under new coach Trent Robinson, but will be eager to atone for last week's second-half meltdown to the Raiders.

There will also be a clash codes on Friday night, with the Western Sydney Wanderers hosting Brisbane Roar in the A-League's first elimination semi-final. The new boys of the competition will be hoping they can continue their fabled unbeaten run against last year's premiers as they attempt to book a place in the grand final, after taking out the minor premiership in their debut season.

The Wanderers are sweating on the fitness of marquee man Shinji Ono, who has declared himself right to play. Meanwhile the Roar have some injury concerns of their own, with inspirational captain Thomas Broich battling a heal injury he picked up in last week's win over Adelaide. The game at Parramatta Stadium is well and truly sold out, with the capacity crowd sure to let everyone know who they sing for!

Elsewhere this weekend, golf enthusiasts can tune in to see if Tiger Woods is successful in his prolonged bid for a 15th major at the US Masters. The previously fallen champion has seen his star rise again in 2013 to reclaim his mantle as the world-number-one. Tiger is well placed after carting an opening round two-under at Augusta National. However he will have to chase down the likes of Aussie Marc Leishman, who holds a share of the lead after shooting an opening round 66.

While the Waratahs will no doubt enjoy their bye in the Super 15 after some stuttering performances of late, all the other teams in the Australian conference will be in action this weekend. We will also have some late night EPL action as all sides will be desperate for points as they jockey for position in the run-in to the end of the season.

Speaking of jockeys- we will also have all the horse racing action from Derby Day at Randwick on Saturday. You can tune in and maybe even have a flutter in our TAB area, where punters will be wanting to see if Black Caviar is successful in notching her 25th straight win in her Group 1 race.

As you can see we might have lost some daylight but we've been saving all the sport for this weekend! We hope to see you down at SSC at some stage for what promises to be an exciting and entertaining time.
