K-League Update

Ulsan FC have gone top of the Korean football league following their 2-nil home win over Daejeon Citizen on the weekend. The Horangi scored twice in the second-half through Choi Bo-Kyung and Kim Shin-Wook to leapfrog rivals Pohang at the summit.

An out-of-form Pohang side dropped points for the second consecutive match after being held to a 2-all draw by Seongnam on Saturday. This followed last week’s home defeat to Jeonbuk, which has now seen them surrender top spot to the boys in blue with the season now past the half-way mark.

Ulsan had missed their chance to go top of the standings in their previous encounter when they were held to a nil-all draw by the Suwon Bluewings. However their victory over the last-placed side means they now lead the K-League by one point.

There is also plenty of competition for the leaders with a group of three teams in Incheon, Jeonbuk and Suwon all tied on 30 points, only one win behind second spot.

At the other end of the table Daegu and Daejeon continue to struggle, with the bottom two sides only managing to record three wins between them so far this season.

Gangwon also remain in the relegation zone, though they are arguably one of the form teams in the competition having been unbeaten in their last five matches. Unfortunately they’ve only notched one win during this streak but can possibly get out of the danger zone if they beat Seoul this weekend.

Korean nationals and fans of the K-League can catch all the action of the Korean domestic football competition live on our Korean satellite television channels.

We’ll also have all the upcoming international action from the EAFF East Asian Cup when hosts Korea Republic play Australia this Saturday night, in a match that is sure to test the allegiances of many of our members.

The match kicks off the same time as the game between Manchester United and the A-League All Stars but you can be sure we’ll be televising both games in what is sure to be a huge night of football action at SSC.
